VicKey is a secure online platform that enables patients to share their health information safely. Health services then use this information to make decisions about their care.

VicKey streamlines administrative processes by digitising manual tasks, allowing health services to dedicate more time and resources to patient care.

Key functions

VicKey simplifies clinical and administrative workflows through 4 key functions:

  • Surgical waitlist tool – An audit tool for patients waiting for planned (elective) surgery.
  • Online health questionnaire – Helps prepare patients for upcoming surgery.
  • Specialist clinic waitlist audit – An audit tool for patients waiting for a specialist (outpatient) clinic appointment.
  • Specialist clinic referral management system.

Supporting health services

Developed for Victorian health services and sponsored by the Department of Health, VicKey aims to:

  • Provide an innovative digital solution to help health services manage patient care and communication.
  • Offer a set of modules designed to simplify clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Streamline the process of checking planned surgery and specialist care preparation lists (waitlists).
  • Ensure an equitable, timely, safe and high-quality specialist clinic referral management system.
